What are ITALIAN CHARMS?
Italian Charms are one of the hottest new jewelry phenomena to come along in recent years. They are small, rectangular pieces of Stainless Steel with designs or pictures on them that link together to make a bracelet.
The most popular size is the standard 9mm, but other sizes and styles are available, too. What is the HISTORY of Italian Charms?
Around 1985, Italian Charms were first being worn by Soccer players in Europe to show their national flags. Fans began to notice these stylish modular bracelets and wondered what they were, and where they could get them. Then in 1987, Nominations, a company in Italy, created and launched the “composable” bracelet, which was the the first widely available modular charm bracelet of the type sold today. These charms became very popular in Europe.
A few years later, Ivette Catan-Helfend (35), was vacationing in Europe and fell in love with these bracelets being worn by very chic women. She immediately called her sister, Gina Catan-Eckstein (36), to say that they had just found their next business. Their father had been in the jewelry business, and with their family’s entrepeneurial spirit, they subsequently founded Linx & More, a customizable Italian Charm bracelet company, in 1999. These wonderful Charms became popular in California, and then quickly spread across the U.S. They are still incredibly popular today, and are worn by women, children, and sometimes even men!
What are CUSTOM Italian Charms?
There are several different types of Italian Charms available. All of them have some kind of special image on them, whether they are lasered, enameled, painted, etc. The charms found at CUSTOM CHARMS by Cassandra are Italian Charms made from pictures and photographs. The process begins by choosing the right picture and carefully cropping it to best enhance the subject. The picture is then reduced to fit inside a special Photo Link charm, and covered with a protective, glossy enamel coating. When made with care and a good artistic eye, they are incredibly vibrant, beautiful, and durable!
